This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!

Every day, over 5,000 children receive care at a children’s hospital in Canada and by supporting me, you’ll be helping fund life-saving research at your own local children’s hospital. Funds for research are needed now more than ever, and your support will allow researchers to uncover new cures and gentler treatments for kids.

I did it! All because of Rowan

Sunday 31st May
I ran my last 5k this morning. I didn't think I'd get emotional, but the moment my watch buzzed to let me know I had completed my last 5k of the fundraiser I couldn't help it but to let my eyes well up. My mind immediately went to how I felt sitting for hours in the waiting room with all of the other parents who were also waiting for their babies and little ones to have their life changing surgeries at Sick Kids. The feeling in that room is something I'll never forget. I also thought about the immense amount of relief I felt when Rowan's name was called and I got to wait bedside for him to wake from his anesthesia and had learned that his surgery was a success and he was safe. Our story is a little one compared to some of the things other kids and parents have to go through, but the one thing we can all be thankful for is Sick Kids Hospital taking care of us and doing the amazing work that they do. They are real heroes and it fills my heart up with so much joy that we have raised nearly $1000 for such an amazing place. Thank you SO much to everyone for your support. I have never done anything like this before in my life, and I'm so proud of myself and my team. Thank you!

We have all started to add to our kilometers

Monday 4th May
Went for my first run of the fundraiser tonight. Felt pretty good considering I couldn't breathe through my nose this morning and still wasn't feeling great. Ryan went for his first run as well, but said it was tough with him not feeling well.

Doug will be running his second 5k tomorrow!! Wooo! Everyone making progress and we are so thankful for all of the donations!

Getting my steps in!

Thursday 9th Apr
I just got back from my first run in preparation of the fundraiser! 60km is definitely ambitious for me, but I'm looking forward to working up to my goal!

Thank you to my donors
