This May, we're taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of Jim Pattison’s Children Hospital
Our oldest daughter, Evalee, was diagnosed with igA Nephropathy, nephrotic syndrome and nephritic syndrome in September 2024. She spent nearly 2 weeks in hospital and is continuing to receive treatment under the team of pediatric nephrologists at JPCH. With Evalee’s kidney disease she has to continue to keep her daily sodium and fluid intake to a minimum. Evalee’s initial treatment was not successful to bring her disease into remission. Which was the same case when we initially took on this challenge last May for the first time. Evalee is still getting top notch medical treatment from her team at JPCH in hopes she is able to reach a stage of remission.
We are grateful for her care team and without them our girl wouldn’t be able to do the things she loves like play hockey and just all the regular kid stuff!
Evalee is a beautiful, brave, strong and kind young girl and it is fitting that the million reasons run is in May because she will turn 13 on May 29th.
Because and only through the support of everyone who loves our girl, I have set a goal of $3000 and this year all 4 of my kiddos (Evalee included) have set their own goal to run alongside me, we will be running 1 km/day in May! 🏃♀️
Every day, over 5,000 children receive care at a children’s hospital in Canada and by supporting our team, you’ll be helping fund life-saving research at your own local children’s hospital. Funds for research are needed now more than ever, and your support will allow researchers to uncover new cures and gentler treatments for kids.
Please donate now and support us in our challenge!
If you’d like to join our team and run 🏃 for a cause. Let me know we’d be happy for your support!
