This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!

Every day, over 5,000 children receive care at a children’s hospital in Canada and by supporting me, you’ll be helping fund life-saving research at your own local children’s hospital. Funds for research are needed now more than ever, and your support will allow researchers to uncover new cures and gentler treatments for kids.

What CHEO meant to me

Monday 15th Apr
When you have your first baby, you go through so many emotions: fear, anxiety, the overwhelming love you feel for this little person who are now responsible for.  No one can fully describe what it means to hold that person in your arms for the first time.

Sadly for me, shortly after my daughter was born, they had to take her to the NICU- and then finally to CHEO when she spent the first days of her life. It was agonizing, watching them take her away- wheeling her in the little baby incubator away from me. When my husband I came home, we looked at her little bassinet to find it empty, and our hearts were broken.

Luckily, the amazing staff at CHEO took great care of her, and me. Getting her the care she needed, but also helping me in my first days as a mother, they helped me nurse her, change her, and in during the many difficults nights when I couldn't sleep by her side, they comforted me. We were lucky she didn't have to stay too long, but I will never forget the care and love and both she and I received.

I'm running so that I can give back to CHEO the love and support they gave to me and my family.
