Friday 1st May
I've lived this - the endless halls of numbered doors, the hum of fluorescent lights, the monitors keeping time when time itself stood still. 

I've lived this - the medical jargon spoken like a foreign language, the questions without answers, the fear that settles in your chest. 

I've lived this - the nurse who remembered his name, the doctor who sat down to listen, the hands that held steady when mind couldn't. 

I've lived this - the unexpected kindness, the hope offered like medicine, the faith found in scrubs and stethoscopes.

I've lived this - a home away from home, strangers becoming family, the weight of fear slowly lifting into something like gratitude. 

I've lived this - Zack has lived this - and we are still here, because of the ones who made it livable. 

I've lived this at BC Children's Hospital.
