This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!

Last August, my niece Ellie was born with a rare condition called craniosynostosis, which affects the growth of a child’s skull and requires surgical correction. After meeting with pediatricians and neurologists at the Janeway, my brother and sister-in-law made the difficult decision for Ellie to undergo a full open procedure on her skull.

Ellie had her surgery in early March, followed by a week-long stay with her family on the J4 surgery wing at the Janeway. In their words, “It is truly hard to put into words how cared for and supported we felt while we were there.”

The Janeway was there for Ellie and her family during an incredibly challenging time, and now they’re fundraising to help support the hospital and the families who rely on it.
