This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!

Every summer I lace up my running shoes, but I’m definitely more of a fair-weather runner and not the fastest out there. This year, I wanted to challenge myself to do a little more.

I’m taking part in the Millions Reasons Run in support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital, raising funds for research that helps local kids in need. It’s a chance for me to push myself to run farther, faster, and in different conditions (and maybe even different countries!) than I otherwise would.

More importantly, it’s about supporting something that makes a real difference in our community. If you’re able to donate, I’d really appreciate it. Every bit helps and keeps me motivated along the way.

5 Second 5k PB

woke up with lots of energy and a perfect 7 degree day - had all the makings for a great run! Beat my Monday 5k record by 5 seconds for what MAY have been my last 5k of the challenge! Lots going on in the last week of this challenge and a trip to Europe, so we will see what this last stretch has in hold for me!

After my VERY long day yesterday, lets just say 3k felt like a lot more than 3 thousands meters thats for sure, but got it done and in the sun!

HUGE 5K PR!!

May 18 Today was VERY exciting as i beat both my total 5k time goal for the month, as well a s my time per km goal for 5k!! I then followed that up with a nice gym sesh, walk down to the river, and work - lets just say the 7 hours didnt fly by, but so worth it!!

Well woke up to lots of rain this morning so thought id start the day off with hot yoga rather than a run, then i walked out of the studio to lots of snow! So i had to do a treadmill run… which I sure dont enjoy doing, but i got 3k done!

Weather called for rain but i woke up to sun! Made my morning 3k much more enjoyable, thats for sure. Off to the gym for a leg day now!

well after i stepped out my front door this morning I got caught pretty quickly in some torrential downpour.. although i tried my best to outrun it, i eventually failed and had to cut my 4K down to 2k. However, after a successful day at work i came home to sunny 20 degree weather and decided to go out for another 3k - leading ultimately to a total of 5k total ran today!

Beautiful day to set a 5k PR!!

well it was tough to get myself out for a run this morning, a whole lot of wind and 95% rain with a chilly 5 degrees but I made it out for 3 nonetheless

Woke up to a chilly -2 degrees this morning so decided to hit the gym early instead first, then came back for a late morning 4k after my upper body lift!

Last summer I wouldn’t even consider running and lifting in the same day, so this is already a great motivation!

Windy and some thunder this morning but got in a 5k before a day of errands and some yoga later! Wasn’t the quickest with the wind going against me, but fresh air sure smelled good!

big plans today and not very sunny, so usually I wouldn’t go on a morning run, but i decided to fit in a quick 3k this morning before getting on with the day - chillier 8 degrees with rainy clouds but air was fresh!
