This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!

Every day, over 5,000 children receive care at a children’s hospital in Canada and by supporting me, you’ll be helping fund life-saving research at your own local children’s hospital. Funds for research are needed now more than ever, and your support will allow researchers to uncover new cures and gentler treatments for kids.

My Reason

Tuesday 21st Apr
Our little boy, Sebastian, was born with a heart defect that requires him to have surgery in Edmonton likely at the beginning of June. We found out after there were some cloudy images at our 20 week scan (and 21, 22 and 23 week scans) that we would need more detailed images, after going in to Winnipeg for a better ultrasound we were told that he would require surgery after being born sometime around 4 months of age. He has Double Outlet of the Right Ventricle with Ventricular Septal Defect. We’ve spent quite a bit of time with doctors for Sebastian already with the Cardiologist before he was born, the Neonatal doctors during and after his birth and back with the cardiology team now with him for regular check ups leading up to his surgery. We have had nothing but positive experiences with each nurse, doctor and specialist that we have worked with to this point and we really felt that this was a challenge that really resonated with us and is so close to our hearts.
