This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!

Every day, over 5,000 children receive care at a children’s hospital in Canada and by supporting me, you’ll be helping fund life-saving research at your own local children’s hospital. Funds for research are needed now more than ever, and your support will allow researchers to uncover new cures and gentler treatments for kids.

Mother’s Day

Sunday 12th May
It was an amazing 12 km run with my kidlets biking beside me! After what we’ve been through, it was the best Mother’s Day gift ever! Happy Mother’s Day to all you amazing mom’s!

Me and the Fox

Sunday 5th May
Day 5 brings me beautiful mountain views and a fox!

May the 4th Be With You

Saturday 4th May
Well, I was tempted to go out for a run in my C3PO costume but was persuaded not to by my husband. Regardless, I finished a 12km run that I was planning to do tomorrow. I guess the force was strong with me today!

2nd Run

Friday 3rd May
Not a soul is out in Cochrane at 5am except for me and the resident deer. It was a brisk spring morning with a beautiful sunrise!

Day One

Thursday 2nd May
Day one is done with 8.5km behind me. Through snow, wind and angry geese, I felt lifted as I ran knowing I have the support of so many. I'm feeling charged and powerful.

The Reason

Thursday 2nd May
As many of my family, friends and community members may know, my beautiful daughter Katie was diagnosed with two rare auto-immune diseases in November. With the amazing support of the Alberta Children's Hospital and her strong determination, Katie is holding her own and is moving into remission. However, her journey now leads her onto the transplant path as her kidneys have 'expired'....(her words, not mine!) In support of Katie and the Children's Hospital, I am running in the 'Million Reasons Run'.  First, I can't pass down the opportunity to raise funds for this beyond-amazing hospital with Doctors and nurses who have fought so hard to save Katie. Second, this run encourages me to stay fit and mentally strong as I work through the process of possibly becoming a living kidney donor. Please take a look and donate if you can! Any support you can send this way (donations or words of encouragement) will push me to reach my goal of 100km for the month of May....

Thank you to my donors
