This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!

Every day, over 5,000 children receive care at a children’s hospital in Canada and by supporting me, you’ll be helping fund life-saving research at your own local children’s hospital. Funds for research are needed now more than ever, and your support will allow researchers to uncover new cures and gentler treatments for kids.

My Reason for running

Friday 17th Apr
My reason for running this May, is simply to inspire others to make a change, and to have hope!

I have always loved running. Always. Ever since I was old enough to learn to how to walk, I soon wanted to learn how to run, so I did! From that point on I became active with indoor and outdoor play, where I would be running everywhere, as much as I could handle.

I then got involved with sports, and school running clubs, and I loved to learn about Terry Fox. He would always leave me in awe after learning about him at school every fall season. With learning about him followed the anual Terry Fox walk every year, until the very last fall season that I could do the walk, which happned to be my Grade 12 year.

I fell sick in the fall of 2024, my graduation year and no one knew why this was, nor did anyone have any answers for my family and I. We were told that our best bet/last resort was to attend the Janeway. So, we did. For almost 3 whole months!

I was getting very ill, very quickly and it was affecting me physically and mentally. At my lowest points, it felt like I had no way out, and we were told that my sickness could affect me long term. (Long term as in life long!!)

Luckily thanks to all the support, prayers, kind and efficient staff, a bit of faith, and the Janeway in general we were able to push through and I recovered well enough to be discharged and to finally go back to my home. Without the comfort provided by the Janeway and all of their awesome equipment, employees and entertainment, I don't think that everything would've went down so smooth and my recovery wouldn't have went so well without the Janeway.

I have now been back home for over a year now, and I would love to contribute and give back to the Janeway nearly as much as they have given to me, so other kids can have hope and comfort aswell!

Thanks for taking the time to read this blog, and hopefully it can inspire you a little to contribute and/or run too!!!

A brief introduction

Friday 17th Apr
Hello, and welcome to my page!

Throughout the whole month of May, I will be running to fundraise and to create awareness for Newfoundland and Labrador's children hospital; The Janeway.

With the help of a few friends and who ever else is up for the challenge, we'll be setting a personal goal that is realistic for us to achieve, meanwhile contributing all that we can to The Janeway!!

Stay tuned for updates, and thanks for having a look!!!
