This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!

Every day, over 5,000 children receive care at a children’s hospital in Canada and by supporting me, you’ll be helping fund life-saving research at your own local children’s hospital. Funds for research are needed now more than ever, and your support will allow researchers to uncover new cures and gentler treatments for kids.

5.6 K!!!!

Wednesday 13th May
Having good company matters! I managed to get to over 5 K today!  I'm enjoying the sense of accomplishment...it's not much but a few short years ago, I couldn't have done it! Those grandbabies fought hard to be here, I need to do the same!

Manitoba Weather

Friday 8th May
It's an oft joke, that Manitoba has many winters. This week was another example of flurries, some sun, and the darn wind.  Today, I improved my distance to 4.18 km however it was slow going.  Even my furry friend, June, was not amused as her fluffy coat developed serious hair parts!

All in all, I'm thankful for this reason to run otherwise I might be tempted not to - to all my fellow team members, KEEP going!

Winter /spring/ winter

Tuesday 5th May
It's been an interesting Spring (that's a euphemism for not great weather wise) and yesterday was cold, today even colder, flurries even!!!  Yesterday, I did a 1km run on my treadmill  affectionately known as Bjorn!  Today my plan is to do so again...I'll update...Bjorn and I are casual friends so we go it slow together!

The other day was my first born's bday (proud Dad to Matilda and Jameson) and I remembered a time when he had whooping cough. As a first time Mom it was terrifying. The staff at Children's were so kind and what a relief.  It's not just in emergencies that they care, in everyday situations even more than 30 years ago, they reassure and provide guidance.

This running is good for me and if it benefits the services provided by the Children's Hospital all the better...if you can, DONATE! And thank you to everyone who already has, it makes me a bit teary to know there's so much love in this world!

Day 1

Friday 1st May
I haven't been running in ions! It was a walk/run 3.0 km but it felt good! Whenever it gets hard, I just envision my little ones!

Thank you to my donors
