This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!
Every day, over 5,000 children receive care at a children’s hospital in Canada and by supporting me, you’ll be helping fund life-saving research at your own local children’s hospital. Funds for research are needed now more than ever, and your support will allow researchers to uncover new cures and gentler treatments for kids.

Reason for running - Zoey’s arrival 37 weeks
Sunday 3rd MayEvery birth story is special—but Zoey’s arrival into the world was nothing short of dramatic.
We made it to the hospital just in time. There wasn’t even a moment to park the car—I was dropped off right at the front entrance, already in active labour. By pure luck (or maybe something more), a hospital employee who was on his break saw me and immediately stepped in, wheeling me up to labour and delivery.
From there, everything happened so fast.
The team worked quickly to get me into a room, and before an IV could even be inserted, Zoey was ready to make her debut. In a matter of moments, things turned urgent—her heart rate began to drop, and to get her here safely, an episiotomy was performed.
And then… she was here.
Within moments, I was holding her. The NICU team was already in the room, ready for anything. After a couple of minutes of skin-to-skin, we received the best news we could hope for—Zoey was healthy, strong, and able to stay with me.
I will never forget how quickly, calmly, and compassionately the team at McMaster University Medical Centre acted in those critical moments. Because of them, what could have been terrifying became a story of strength, care, and gratitude.
That’s why I’m supporting A Million Reasons to Run—to give back to the incredible people and resources that make stories like ours possible every single day.
I am especially grateful to the staff member who helped me when I needed it most—someone who didn’t have to stop, but did. If anyone knows how I might be able to find him, I would love the chance to say thank you properly.
If you’re able to support this cause, donate, share, or cheer me on, it truly means so much. Every step I take is for families like mine—and for the teams who are there when it matters most.

May 2025
Monday 27th AprAs many of you know, about a year ago I was 7 months pregnant when things took an unexpected turn. I became critically ill and was admitted to McMaster Children’s Hospital, where I needed oxygen support and close monitoring.
Through it all, baby Zoey was checked every single day and showed no signs of distress. She stayed safe and sound while I focused on getting better—and later made her grand debut at 37 weeks. 💕
I’m still working through my postpartum recovery, but I’m feeling strong enough to take on something meaningful.
This May, I’m participating in the “A Million Reasons to Run” challenge to support McMaster Children’s Hospital (MUMC). It feels incredibly special to give back to the place that cared for both me and Zoey during such a difficult time.
If you’re able to donate, share, or cheer me on, it would truly mean so much. Thank you for your support ❤️
