This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!

Every day, over 5,000 children receive care at a children’s hospital in Canada and by supporting me, you’ll be helping fund life-saving research at your own local children’s hospital. Funds for research are needed now more than ever, and your support will allow researchers to uncover new cures and gentler treatments for kids.

The Reason Why

Thursday 30th Apr

The reason why I am doing this. When we found out our son (Casey) was going to be born with bi- lateral club feet, we knew that the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital was going to play a big part in the process to help him. During the first 4 months of his life we were at the hospital every week (casting and tenotomy procedure). It was and is a big part of our lives. Casey has now graduated to visiting every 3 months, but he will be going until he is 16. This is one of the reasons I want to do this. The second reason, when I started talking about doing this to my peers, I did not realize how many of their children and children in Maidstone have gone or continue to visit (like Casey) on a regular basis. So I am doing this for my son BUT also for them!

Some people have asked why 223 kms, this is the distance (one way) between Maidstone SK and the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon. So for the 31 days in May, the team that has joined me and myself are trying to complete this goal!

So, if you see this, thanks for reading! If you are wondering how to help? Please share the fundraising page, donate (if you can), please send encouragement. I am excited to try and do this, it is a great cause and this hospital helps thousands of children everyday!

Thank you!
