This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!

Every day, over 5,000 children receive care at a children’s hospital in Canada and by supporting me, you’ll be helping fund life-saving research at your own local children’s hospital. Funds for research are needed now more than ever, and your support will allow researchers to uncover new cures and gentler treatments for kids.

Why I’m Running for SickKids: A Journey Back to Running

Friday 28th Mar

This May, I’m lacing up my running shoes for SickKids Toronto – a place that holds a special place in my heart.

We’ve been incredibly fortunate as a family – our only experience at SickKids was a single emergency admission for our daughter. Even in that brief time, I witnessed the incredible care, compassion, and dedication of the staff. SickKids doesn’t just provide medical treatment – they offer hope and unwavering support during some of life’s toughest moments.

I’ve also seen this firsthand through friends whose children have needed the specialized care that only SickKids can provide. Plus, during my clinical rotations in nursing school, I saw how much the hospital means to so many families. The truth is, you never know when you might need a place like SickKids. As a mom, I know that if my kids ever needed specialized care, I’d want them to have the very best.

That’s why I’m pushing myself to get back into running after two back-to-back pregnancies. Honestly, it feels a bit daunting, but I’m determined to put in the work and reach my goal. It’s more than just a fitness journey – it’s about showing up for the kids and families who need SickKids right now.

Throughout May, I’ll be sharing my progress – the challenges, the triumphs, and what keeps me going. I know it won’t be easy, but every step will be worth it. I’m running not just for myself but for every child who needs this incredible hospital.

Thank you for being part of my journey! 💙
