6.40km run40km goal
This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!
This is something completely new to me, but I found out about the Million Reasons Run and felt like I had to take part in it.
This May, I’ve set a goal: to run 40 kilometers over 31 days while raising $1,000 for McMaster Children’s Hospital.
At first glance, it might just sound like a fitness challenge. But for me, it’s something much more personal.
Twenty-three years ago, I was born three months premature. My grandparents forced to make a decision no parent or grandparent should ever have to make: “your daughter or your granddaughter” who knows what would have happened if we were at a different hospital. Would they have been able to save us both?
Now, twenty-three years later, you wouldn’t even KNOW I was a premature baby if I didn’t tell you and now I have the opportunity to give back.
Every kilometer I run this May is a small way of saying thank you, not just for myself, but for every family who finds themselves in need of that same care and hope. Hospitals like McMaster Children’s don’t just treat patients; they support families through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
My goal is to raise $1,000 to help ensure that other children and families continue to receive the same incredible care that I did.
If you’re able to support, whether by donating or simply sharing this fundraiser, it would mean a lot. And if not, cheering me on along the way is just as appreciated.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me.❤️🫶🏻
