This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!

Every day, over 5,000 children receive care at a children’s hospital in Canada and by supporting me, you’ll be helping fund life-saving research at your own local children’s hospital. Funds for research are needed now more than ever, and your support will allow researchers to uncover new cures and gentler treatments for kids.

Today is the Day

Friday 1st May
What started as an idea has officially turned into something real—the Million Reasons Run begins now. And before I take another step forward, I just need to pause and say thank you.

The amount of love and support I’ve received already has been overwhelming in the best way. Every donation, every message, every share, every story that’s been trusted with me—it all means more than I can put into words. This journey was never just about running. It’s about the reasons behind it, and you’ve all reminded me just how many there truly are.

Over the past little while, training has looked like early mornings, and just as often, runs after a long day at work—tired legs, low energy, but still showing up. Miles shared with Winnie by my side. Some runs felt strong, some felt hard—but every single one has felt meaningful knowing what this is all for.

Hearing your stories and reflecting on my own connections to the children’s hospital has made this even more personal. It’s a reminder that this run isn’t just a challenge—it’s a purpose.

So here we go. Day one.

I’m running for every reason shared with me, for every family who has walked through those hospital doors, and for the ones who will in the future. I’m running with gratitude, with determination, and with all of you behind me.

If you’re able to continue supporting—through donations, shares, or even just cheering me on—it truly makes a difference.

Let’s do this 🤍

Training for Something Bigger Than Us

Sunday 26th Apr
The Million Reasons Run doesn’t officially start until May 1, but for Winnie and I, it’s already begun.

We’ve been out on the roads, putting in the miles — some days feeling strong, other days just showing up. It’s not perfect training, but it’s ours. Winnie, of course, is always ready to go, tail wagging like every run is the best one yet.

What’s made this feel different from any other run I’ve done isn’t the distance or the pace — it’s the reason behind it.

Over the past little while, I’ve received some donations, and with them, messages. Stories. Memories. People opening up about their connections to our local children’s hospital — the time they spent there, the care they received, the moments that shaped their families forever.

I’ve thanked each person who donated, but it never quite feels like enough. Because it’s not just support — it’s trust. It’s people sharing pieces of their lives, and reminding me just how many of us are connected through something bigger than we often realize.

This run is becoming more than just a goal on a calendar. It’s becoming a collection of stories, of people, of reasons.

And now when I head out the door with Winnie, it’s not just “our run” anymore.

It’s for every story I’ve heard.
Every family that’s walked those hospital halls.
Every child who needed care.

We’re still just training — but already, this means more than I expected.

May 1 is just the start.

Running for a Million Reasons

Sunday 12th Apr
When I first heard about the Million Reasons Run, I wasn’t sure what my “reason” would be. I don’t personally know many kids who have spent time in the hospital, and I haven’t had that direct connection that so many others share. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized—you don’t need a personal story to care. Sometimes, it’s about showing up anyway.

For me, this run is about challenge, growth, and purpose.

Running has never been easy. It pushes me mentally just as much as it does physically. There are moments where I want to stop, slow down, or quit altogether. But that’s exactly why I’m doing this. I want to prove to myself that I can push through discomfort, stay committed, and do something that’s bigger than just me.

One thing that’s made this journey even more special is that I’m not doing it alone—my border collie puppy will be joining me along the way. Whether we’re out training or just getting in the kilometers together, having her by my side has made the whole experience more enjoyable. She doesn’t think about distance or pace—she just runs because she loves it. And honestly, that’s been a good reminder for me too—to enjoy the process, stay present, and keep going even when it gets tough.

At the same time, I’m running to support something incredibly important—raising money for HSC in Winnipeg. Even though I may not know many kids who have needed hospital care, I know they’re out there. Kids who rely on that care. Families who depend on it. And if I can play even a small role in helping them by putting one foot in front of the other, then that’s more than enough reason for me.

This run isn’t about having the perfect story. It’s about creating one.

It’s about choosing to step outside of my comfort zone and using that effort to make a difference. Every kilometer I run is a reminder that growth comes from pushing limits—and that even small actions can contribute to something meaningful.

So I’m running—not because I have to, but because I can.
And that, in itself, is my reason.
