This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!
Hi everyone,
For the third year in a row, I'm doing the Million Reasons run, and for the first time, I'm running for our local Children's Hospital in London. It's extra special to me because I know some kiddos who have spent time there, and in one case, experienced life-saving care there.
But even more broadly, this cause is important to me because my life was saved by neo-natal and pediatric healthcare. I still live with complications from my 3-months-early arrival, and I still have great doctors who are helping me work to manage a very cranky respiratory system. But what I especially remember is having to see so many doctors as a kid, and it sometimes feeling scary. I'll always remember the doctors and healthcare workers who made sure I felt safe, special, and loved at my appointments. I'll always be grateful for the researchers who study bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and who are making progress with it every day. Above all, though, I think I'll always remember what it was like to be a kiddo who was scared by what her body was doing, and feeling like I couldn't control it.
We can help these kiddos get excellent, child-centered healthcare, and support research that will improve treatments. Please join me in making a donation of whatever you are able, and please know that in these financially challenging times, every penny counts, and any amount is appreciated. Thank you for reading and stopping by!
