Why I’m running!
Thursday 30th Apr My daughter was diagnosed with moderate-severe hearing loss at birth, thanks to the infant hearing screening. Our world changed when she was fit with her first set of hearing aids at 5 months old. At 2.5 years, her testing became less reliable and later found out she had progressive hearing loss. In most pitches profound… hearing aids were no longer enough.The amazing team at SickKids made the decision very easy - to give her the opportunity to enjoy the things she loves most, music and talking! Although we have been learning ASL this kid loves to hear and recognize the voices of those she adores, and sing until her heart is content!
Her cochlear implant surgery has been one of the best decisions we’ve made, and so grateful for our team!
