This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!
My name is Manav Pooni, and I am proud to support BC Children’s Hospital through this fundraiser run. Every day, the hospital cares for over 5,000 children and families, and my own experiences show just how meaningful that care truly is. As a child, I received incredible support there, and I’ll never forget when my brother Mahaveer faced a life-threatening scare at a very young age—the hospital staff took amazing care of him and supported me not only as a patient, but as an older brother during a very frightening time. My younger brother Harveer, who has Down syndrome, also visited the hospital frequently growing up, and those experiences shaped how deeply I care about the health and wellbeing of children. Being the oldest, I’ve always felt a strong responsibility to look out for my brothers, and seeing other kids go through illness brings out that same protective feeling in me. Children are the future of our country, and they deserve the very best care and support possible. This cause means a lot to me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back
