This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!
🏃♀️💛 Million Reasons Run — Year 6 💛🏃♀️
This May marks my 6th year taking part in the Million Reasons Run, with 100% of donations going directly to The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) — a cause that’s close to my heart.
In past years, I’ve taken on the challenge of running 100 km in the month of May.
This year looks a little different.
For the first time ever, I’ll be lining up for a half‑marathon (21.1 km) on Sunday, May 3rd, with a monthly goal of 63.3 km — the equivalent of 3 half marathons.
When I signed up, my plan was to start training in January… but on January 9, I had a major setback. I fell and badly bruised my ribs, dealing with constant pain, even while sleeping. I was discouraged and worried I wouldn’t be able to train properly. After weeks of healing, I slowly eased back into running, and I’m proud to say that since then I’ve completed 33 runs totaling 195 km.
Running has always been part of my story — from track and field in elementary school, cross country in high school, using it as stress relief and rediscovering it during COVID. I was welcomed into the Bloor West Village Runners and now run alongside the most supportive group of moms. I’m endlessly grateful for the community around me and for my husband, who holds down the fort so I can get those long runs done. ❤️
I’m running with gratitude, determination, and hope and I’d be so thankful for your support. Every donation helps fuel my steps and supports the incredible work being done at SickKids.
💛 Your encouragement and generosity will help carry me across the finish line. 💛
