My 3rd year running!
This is my third year running in the Million Reasons Run. Last year I ran 101 km and raised $8893; raising over $15,000 the past two years for the Children’s Hospital.
I can’t thank you enough for supporting me on my runs and supporting the Children’s Hospital, it means so much to me and my family.
In 2023 Jax was diagnosed with a primary immune deficiency called APDS2. After his diagnosis he started and continues to do weekly SCIG injections at home. In 2024 he was able to get into a clinical drug trial at the NIH in Washington DC.
This past year we had 2 visits to the NIH. While we continued on with the clinical trial, his team here at the Children’s Hospital worked very hard to get his medication approved to come to Canada. This was a lengthy process; they started the approval process in September and after many follow up phone calls they were able to get his medication here in Winnipeg by January!
So after 10 visits to the NIH we are officially done the clinical drug trial!
We are so thankful to his team at the immunology clinic at the Childrens hospital for diagnosing Jax, getting him in the trail and getting his medication here so quickly and smoothly.
So once again, I am running 100 kms during the month of May to raise money for the Childrens Hospital. I hope the money raised can help someone else get the same care that our family have received.
