This May, I'm taking on a 31 day running challenge in support of my local children's hospital!

Every day, over 5,000 children receive care at a children’s hospital in Canada and by supporting me, you’ll be helping fund life-saving research at your own local children’s hospital. Funds for research are needed now more than ever, and your support will allow researchers to uncover new cures and gentler treatments for kids.

29 days in...

Wednesday 28th May
Wow... this month has gone by so fast. I can't believe how I managed to run so much, who would have thought, I would actually enjoy it !!!?

I only have a few kms to do tomorrow and my goal will be reached. I feel proud and my body is tired due to the amount of running this has been every week but I don't regret it and I will definitely keep running but in a more moderate way, as I please and I will also go back to strength training which I did very little to focus on this challenge. I have not reached my money goal but I still feel happy that family and friends have helped gather money that will go to the children's hospital and help fund the research for things like cancer in children.

I feel relieved and also a bit sad that this challenge is over but I hope it will remind everyone that we need to keep pushing for our dream and to support others.

Merci !

Day 5 with 5kms

Monday 5th May
Wow... saying that I am proud of myself is an understatement, I have ran 5kms, 2 days in a row in one run instead of 2.
I am not saying I could do that everyday but it does feel good. It's definitely a challenge.

Today, the weather was beautiful, no wind and warmth and there were 2 other friends of mine running as well. Now that is encouraging !!! You know what would be encouraging even more, if you guys could support the cause I am running for.  Many children and their families would be thankful as research improves and finds treatments for children of Canada.

Thank you for the love,

Adeline

2 days for the IWK

Friday 2nd May
Here I am, after 6 weeks of training and now 2 intense days of running. My legs hurt. Not that this is a surprise.
As I progress in my course and it starts to be hard, I think about the children and their family who go through incomparable suffering and worry. It helps me run further, longer.
While I can't compare myself to other experienced runners, I am already proud of my body and what it can accomplish.

Please keep me in your thoughts as I try to run to reach 100 kms by May 31st. In the meantime, support the Canadian children's hospitals and their research.

Cheers,

Adeline
