Running in memory of our sweet girl, Tia. Our goal is to raise funds for the Stollery children's hospital.
Tia was diagnosed with stage 4 Ewing Sarcoma back in July 2023. The amount of strength she showed throughout her entire battle is strength I didn't know existed. She would put a smile on her face to welcome any family or friends no matter the pain she felt. Tia was a beautiful human being who loved her family and friends and had a love for our environment.
"When you go for a walk and you see a nice tree, think of me"
I am doing this run in her memory, it was important to her that we tried to help out the Stollery any way that we could. We were living in the hospital on and off for months until the last few months where we were in there full time.. we seen first hand the struggle that the Stollery goes thru with needing supplies or maybe new machines.... Not to mention they need way more space.
During our time in the hospital, we would have to wait to be brought in for her treatments because he hospital was almost always over capacity. I guess since the children's hospital is mixed in with the regular hospital, they are going to have a hard time fitting everyone. And the amount of kids just in the ward she was in was heart breaking...
The nurses and helpers there are all incredible and did the best they could for Tia in making her as comfortable as they could throughout her entire battle.
